As I've said in previous headphone reviews, I am incredibly picky when it comes to my listening devices. In-ear and on-ear options do not really address my personal preference. But, I am always keen to give new products a shot, hoping that something will come along that provides me with alternatives, because when I hop on my stationary bike circumaural headphones are NOT ideal. They're heavy. They're hot. And, being wired, they're tethered to my computer. The WhizBeats W10 headset from SoundWhiz endeavors to address all those issue.

My initial experience with this headset was an altogether foreign one. Perforated shields stood between the ear bud and the body of each earpiece. Though I didn't understand their purpose at first, fitting them in place revealed their function. The shields fit in the concha of the ear, holding the headset in place even during heavy activity. A flat, tangle free cord connects the two ear buds, and the headset itself pairs easily with most Bluetooth enabled devices.

As to sound quality, the WhizBeats comport themselves nicely with a range that even includes a deep bass unrivaled by any other earbuds I've tested to date. The very nature of earbuds imparts them with a noise cancelling quality. As with all earbuds the process of wearing them, for me at least, feels like shoving pillows in my head. This lends an kind of muffled tonality that's hard to shake. I admit that this is my response to earbuds in general though. So, it's not an issue specific to the WhizBeats. The sound quality of the mic translates to a tinny, empty room effect. This has been pretty common to similarly priced headsets (not headphones) I've tried though. It's hard to expect much more when the mic is basically in your ear.

Then, unfortunately, there's the battery life. Though SoundWhiz claims these headphones have an 8 hour talk/playback time, this simply is not the case. What I'm seeing, on average, is 4 hours. The upside is that they only take around 45 minutes to recharge.

Pulseaudio Vitality Bluetooth Headphones

Pulseaudio Bluetooth headphones

The audio on these Bluetooth headphones is incredible. Of all the headphones I’ve tried they are by far superior. I own so many headphones, most of them are given to my kids. With the exception of my Philips Bluetooth Stereo Headphones (over ear), which are my favorite.

Pulseaudio’s Bluetooth Headphones are nearly perfect. The audio is crisp, clear, and the bass is incredible. Every pair of headphones I’ve tested has fallen short on bass. These actually wowed me so much that they might be dethroning my Philips headphones as my favorite. The bass really intensifies the music experience for me. I don’t need it to rattle my ear drums but I wanna feel it in my bones.

Stylistically these are most like the Silicon Devices Bluetooth Headphones I reviewed. The problem I had with the Silicon Device’s Bluetooth Headphones was that the cord that connected the ear pieces transferred any all movement noises through the headphones. That was a major buzz kill for me personally. Thankfully Pulseaudio doesn’t have this issue. I can bob my head and move around freely without experiencing noise transfer.

I said these Pulseaudio Bluetooth Headphones were nearly perfect though. They fall short on noise cancelling. Which is disappointing because everything else is stellar. My toddler is in the never ending talking stage so noise cancelling is pretty important on my list of needs.

Another thing that sets these Bluetooth headphones apart from others is how easily they pair. I hate pairing my Philips headphones. I’m still a fan of over ear headphones but these are really making it hard to not love. The sound quality and bass really set them apart. It’s probably something you’d have to hear for yourself to understand. If you’ve tried other headphones that fell short these won’t disappoint you.

Cujo Control Dog Training Collar

Both of our dogs are trained pretty well. They understand sit, come, no, etc but we cannot have them off the leash because they will run. Their breed is of hunting dogs so they are just doing what they innately think they are supposed to do. Our worse nightmare is them running out of the front door and getting hit.
